I was thinking maybe we could have a roleplaying contest between everyone in the site to see who can last the longest and post the longest. It would be fun, and a challenge for everyone to get their roleplaying skills up.
Also, on a side note, I have a code to justify text in posts if you want it.

Personally, I don't really think an RP contest is that great of an idea for a contest. How would it work? Would there just be one prompt for each...round? Some people are better at certain settings, other people other settings, and it's not really that fun when you're just making a post with your own character and no one else. There's no story or anything. Unless you mean one thread with one prompt, and the person who lasts longest would win. But that still seems kind of weird, since it would take forever for whoever is judging to read through every single post, eventually someone would just run out of muse for it if nothing was happening at all.
Everyone all posting in the same thing can get really confusing. Would there be a post order or what? If we were to do an RP contest, it would make more sense for it to be kind of like a tournament, with pairs of people at a time, the winner moving on and et cetera.
Also, I don't think it should be judged on just length. Maybe more quality; mechanics, description, whether it can keep your attention, yadda yadda. Just over all how good it is and not how long. It would be a whole lot fairer that way, since well, you write really long posts xD
However, I do believe there should be a slightly higher RP post requirement on the site. A lot of posts I've seen have been one liners, and they're mostly dialogue. For one thing, the posts should be literate, so no chat speaking. Punctuation was made for a reason, so it's easier to tell when a sentence is ending or if it continues forever. Same with capitalization...Another thing I've noticed is a lot of OOC posts in an RP thread--they still get post counts for those, and frankly, threads that are supposed to be for RPing isn't for having a conversation in OOC--there's PMs and the cbox for that. Besides, when you're making a cat, you write the appearance, personality, and history for a reason. One line of what the cat is saying hardly shows any of that.
Edit: Another reason for why basing it on just length would be rather biased is because then people could just go on and on and on, fill it with meaningless parts and rambling, or repeat things over and over again, to make it as long as they possibly could. It could be as boring and dull as reading a never ending essay that doesn't even seem to have a topic anymore. I'm not at all saying anyone here does it, but sometimes people might.

Well yes, quality is just as important (if not more important) as length. And yes, it would be in rounds. I've done one of these before, and it actually worked out rather nicely until the site died xP

What about a graphics contest? Just for the fun of it! Plenty of graphic makers would have fun making different images for different subjects, and we'd get to see who was the best, and have fun doing it! And we'd get to see how certain thing are interpretted!

...maybe we should get more members first before having a contest? It would be more exciting with more competition, whatever contest it is we're doing. However, I would like to suggest a contest for making an advertisement for this site. A site ad would help with the advertising, since everyone could help spread the word.
We would be able to use any of the submitted ads, as long as the ad includes a link to the site, the plot(when we get one), and some other background info. The best three would get prizes.

Yes. I agree with echo on the ad competition. That would be a great way to get some more members so we can carry out those other competitions.

I like all of those ideas :) It's a good time to have a competition, given that it will get posts up, and definitely be something interesting for the guests to look at/sign up for. It'll show them what a great commmunity w have ;).

Contests? The competitive Flicker will WIN! xD Jk. I iz not competitive (Maybe...xD) Anyways, I agree that we should have an add contest, and a few more contests later are always fun ^^ Before we start advertising like crazy though, we should probably get the evil clan set up, because many members won't join if we don't currently have a plot.

Well no that wasn't exactly what I meant. Not an advertising contest, but a an advertisement making contest. And then we can start advertising like crazy xD
