Jaykit padded around on her soft white paws, wondering when she would finally start losing that softness that all kits have. It seems like she could be made an apprentice any day now, but the leader never seemed to be in the mood. Then there was her best friend, a warrior named Feathersong. Feathersong had been out of camp for a whole day, and she couldn't help but to wonder what was going on... Jaykit could only hope that her friend would hurry back soon. Being anxious about her apprentice ceremony and being worried were never fun things to do. With a sigh, Jaykit stretched out, staring that the stars.

Honeypaw watched the pacing Jaykit in amusement. No doubt she was thinking about her apprentice ceremony, almost every kit did at that age. With a blink of her deep turquoise eyes, the brown and gold she cat recalled when she was as carefree as Jaykit. When the white kit sat down, Honeypaw decided to try and make converation. She did have free time, after all..."Are you ok, Jaykit?" she asked gently from the apprentice den. Although she was only a few moons older than Jaykit, she felt much older. Not that she was looking down on anyone.

(she's not all white. Jaykit has a red tail, muzzle, and ears. sorry i forgot to mention that)
"I'm fine. Just wondering when Feathersong will get back." Jaykit looked over at Honeypaw. "Also pretty excited about it being almost time for my apprentice ceremony." She purred and flicked her long red tail. "How's life in the apprentice den?" She asked, walking over to her soon-to-be denmate.

(ah, ok) Honeypaw nodded when Jaykit mentioned Feathersongs absence. The two were pretty close. "I can't wait to have you here - it's pretty lonely right now," she mewed with a flick of her ears. The warmth would help too, Honeypaw thought as she remembered how chilly it was last night.

"The nursery is pretty lonely too since you moved to the apprentice den. There aren't many kits around to play with..." Jaykit sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws, then yawned, having been up all night without anything to do.

"I bet ***star will make you an apprentice soon," Honeypaw commented thoughtfully with a flick of her tail. "Well, I'm pretty sure you are six moons old now." With that, she realised how long away her warrior ceremony was. Six moons of waiting for her apprentice ceremony had felt like two seasons. But she was an apprentice now and that meant much more things to do. Hopefully not so many tasks involving elders, Honeypaw thought in amusement.

"I hope..." Jaykit mewed "I am six moons. It could be any day now..." Jaykit glanced over at the apprentice den, just wishing she were inside and allowed to be there instead of always being in the nursery.

"Hopefully soon," Honeypaw sighed but then brightened. "Do you want me to show you some battle moves in the meantime?" She flicked her tail tip in anticipation. Hardly having been out of camp yet, both Honeypaw's battle skills and hunting skills were limited. But it would pass the time.

"Not now... Maybe later." She wanted to start her training, but wasn't in the mood at the moment. She let her tail rest on the ground and just looked up at the stars, hoping her friend would return soon or she would be able to sleep.

Instantly, Honeypaw felt pretty disappointed but shrugged it off and lay down again. "Okay," she mewed. She wanted to go to sleep now, curl up in a ball in her nest, but didn't feel tired at all. Flicking her tail in frustration, Honeypaw gazed at the stars of silverpelt. The glittering lights were beautiful, but they didn't attract to her that night. She wanted to go to the river and have a good swim under the moon, but going out of camp without permission, especially at night, wasn't allowed. With a sigh, Honeypaw rolled onto her back and made do with silver pelt.

Feeling bad, Jaykit looked over at Honeypaw. "I don't want to battle, but going for a swim would be awesome." She meowed. Sure, it was a little chilly, but surely a quick swim could still be fun. Now that she thought of it, a swim is just what she wanted to do. She'd been stuck in camp too long and was itching to get out. The last time she'd left was when she was little and her mother was teaching her how to swim, just in case camp ever flooded. Maybe Honeypaw, being an apprentice would follow the rule more closely and not come along, but the more she thought of the water, the more she knew she would go. Even if she went alone, she would make it to the river.

Honeypaw tilted her head. She highly doubted that taking Jaykit out of camp would impress the leader and her mentor. Even though she was almost ready to be an apprentice, kits shouldn't leave camp. Unless under supervision..."I guess I don't have to tell you to stay close," she mewed warily. As she moved her head to look around, her blue eyes flashed with worry. She didn't really feel like checking the elders fur for ticks. Or any other punishments for taking a kit out of camp without permission.

Jaykit purred, glad to have her way. "Can we really go now?" She whispered bouncing on her tiny paws. Being out of camp was always fun, especially when you didn't have a queen hovering over you, just waiting for your energy to run out so she could take you back to the safety of camp...
