Name:
Kestrelkit - Kestrelpaw - Kestrelflight
Age:
20 Moons
Gender:
Female
Picture:
Alliance:
Riverclan
Rank:
Warrior
Appearance:
Body and Physique
Kestrelflight is an unusually tiny tabby she-cat. She is only a little larger than the average apprentice. She is often mistaken - by other clans - for an apprentice due to her size. She has a lean body to match. Her very small, lean body makes her incredibly swift. She is lightning quick which she often uses in battle because she doesnt have the physical strength to head on battle opponants. Her lean body is often very good for swimming, which as a Riverclan cat, she does excellently. She is thin and lithe with a natural grace.
Pelt and Coloring
Kestrelflight has light bracken brown fur and her tabby stripes are dark ebony verging on black. She has soft amber eyes and no particular scars or markings. She has a single white patch on her chin and white covers part of her neck as well. She is short haired. Her overall coloring is a more chocolate color than either Falconheart or Eaglewing.
Personality:
Kestrelflight is the quietest of the three siblings. She can be described as "painfully shy". She often prefers not to start conversations and won't directly speak unless spoken to. She has a calm and introverted personality. However, she wishes she were able to be more open and outgoing. Her lack of friends or companions isn’t by choice and she often wishes for company. She dreams of having an apprentice if only so that just maybe she would be able to form a bond with someone. She is very trusting and would be a loyal companion to one who wished her company.
She is wise overall. She thinks things through and never acts on her impulses. She has a tranquil serenity wrapped around her that often extends to others and can be found to be comforting. She is good at masking her emotions when needed. She, un like Eaglewing, has no problem with her heritage. While it earns her distrust from her clan (even though she grew up in Riverclan), she tries to move past it and works to prove her loyalty. She is very non-violent and only fights when required. She is not easily angered, but at the same time will not back down from a challenge.
She has little interest in having a mate or starting a family. She is more focused on friends and acceptance. If a tom stumbled her way, then she would definitely take her chance happily, but she isn’t “on the search”. She has quiet dreams of either having an apprentice or becoming deputy. It isn’t really for her ambitions, but maybe that the position would award her the acceptance and trust from her clanmates that she has been seeking since she was a kit.
Family:
Mother- Unknown clan cat
Father- Unknown clan cat
Sister- Falconheart, Windclan, Living
Brother- Eaglewing, Thunderclan, Living
Mentor- Frostflower, Riverclan, Deceased
History:
Kestrelflight, as a kit a little over a moon old, was found abandoned at Fourtrees along with her brother and sister Falconheart and Eaglewing. At the time they were simply known as Eaglekit, Kestrelkit and Falconkit. The four clans deliberated over what to do with the three kits. By their clan names, they were definately of clan origin. However, their scents had been heavily masked by herbs and no one would step forward to claim them as their own. The three kittens were assumed to be Half-Clan and the parents hiding their identities. Following the warrior code, Riverclan stepped forward volunteering the raise the three kittens as their own. Eaglekit, Falconkit and Kestrelkit were adopted into Riverclan.
Upon reaching six moons of age, the three kits became apprentices and began to train. Kestrelpaw was mentored by Frostflower, a well respected middle aged warrior. Eaglepaw, Kestrelpaw and Falconpaw had had many difficulties ever fitting in with Riverclan. They were looked down upon because of their heritage and generally outcasts. Frostflower was an exception. She treated Kestrelpaw with respect, looking fondly at her. They became very close and Kestrelpaw had a renewed determination to prove herself as the best warrior of Riverclan so she could honor Frostflower. Eventually, Kestrelpaw and her siblings completed their training and became warriors together.
Eaglepaw became Eaglewing, Kestrelpaw became Kestrelflight and Falconpaw became Falconheart. Eaglewing began to have a growing discomfort, an itching in his paws. For a long time, he didnt know what it was. Finally he came to understand his longing. He knew in his heart that Riverclan was not his home. He confessed his feelings to his two sisters, announcing to them his intentions to leave Riverclan for Thunderclan - a clan he beleive they originated (at least half) from. At this time Falconheart announced she too was leaving, for Windclan. The three siblings were heart broken to be seperating, but it had to be done. Kestrelflight was left behind, believing in her heart that Riverclan was her home, though she has never been truly accepted.
RP Example:
Kestrelflight’s life the past few moons had fallen into a depressed monotonous routine. Her life was oriented around Ashenbone. Each morning she rose early, going to sit with Ashenbone in the medicine cat den. She was careful not to disturb Mistwing, quiet and out of the way. Sometimes she would sit silently, sometimes she would lean down – careful not to disturb his injuries – and groom his fur as if they could share tongues. Occasionally she would speak quietly to him, though she knew he couldn’t really hear her. She liked to think she was keeping him company in some way or another. On mornings when she was assigned to dawn patrol, she would dutifully go out on patrol, always returning and going straight to visit Ashenbone. Every spare moment not attending to her warrior duties was spent with Ashenbone.
She usually went on a patrol a day, depending on what Hawkberry assigned her to do. She punctually went on a hunting patrol at midday. Blackstar already hated her; she couldn’t afford to shirk any duties now. She had spent some time recovering from her own injuries from the badger attack, but she had been up and moving as soon as possible. She liked the routine of her day, though through most of it she didn’t say a word. She didn’t speak at all actually, unless she was whispering to Ashenbone. He was the only one that deserved her words, her endless apologies. She still was sure that every morning she woke up might be the morning she saw him smile or heard him speak again. In her heart, something told her he might never wake up. She might have killed him without taking his life.
This particular day, Kestrelflight had just returned from her midday hunting. She was carrying two water voles in her jaws. Her steps were slow and careful; her head down and eyes staring at the ground in front of her. Her only thoughts were to drop of the prey – in full view of Blackstar – before she went to Ashenbone. Her tail was low, swishing against her hind legs. Her ears occasionally twitched as she caught snippets of conversation. Most of the clan left her alone, scratch that, they all did. They disliked her now more than ever. Not only was she a half-clan abomination, but she was – in their eyes and her own – responsible for the comatose state of one of their warriors. She tried to melt away, to be nothing in their eyes. Except for Blackstar, she was still determined to prove herself to him. He had said nothing to her, but his dark looks of hatred were enough for her.
Sudden quick pawsteps and the sound of Mistwing’s urgent voice calling to her dragged Kestrelflight from her own thoughts. "Kestrelflight! Get in here now! Ashenbone is awake and you… Just hurry!!" Kestrelflight’s head snapped up, her eyes wide and urgent. She whirled around, every muscle tense and every sense alert as she began to sprint. She paused only long enough to drop the prey in the fresh kill pile before racing in to the medicine cat den. Her fur was fluffed up, her gaze conveying her desperate need to see that Mistwing’s words were true. As she looked into Ashenbone’s open eyes for the first time in moons, her fur began to lie flat. She attempted to calm her racing heart, padding forward more slowly to Ashenbone. Her tail flicked nervously from side to side. Her head was low and cautious as her eyes darted to his outstretched paw wrapped in bandages. She looked back to him, stopping a whisker away. Her voice was a low whisper, the same she had used to talk to him every day while he lay unconscious.
