Beaming down on camp, shedding no warmth, was a cold LeafBare sun. It let off a strange white glow. The strange colour of the sun interested Ebonystep who had just slipped through the thorn tunnel with a scrawny vole and pigeon. Although staring at the sun hurt her eyes, generally it was a yellow-ish colour - not white.
Quickly, she shrugged the thought off and dropped her catch on the fresh kill pile. Ebonystep generally liked LeafBare as she didn't overheat, like in GreenLeaf. With a contented sigh, the black she cat lay down and tried to catch a scrap of sun from the sun. Soon her mind wondered and she found herself staring at random cats.

Emberpaw looked around camp and saw Ebonystep laying in a patch of sunlight. She bounded over. "Hey Ebonystep, do you think you could please take me out hunting? I haven't been out today and there's nocat left in camp. Or do you think we should stay in camp to guard it?"
Emberpaw realized she was blabbering and slapped her tail over her mouth before looking down at the snow, embarassed.

Ebonystep blinked out of her daze and snapped back to reality, focusing her bright yellow eyes on Emberpaw. "Hunting? Well, i've just been but the clan needs prey..." she started a bit woozily but soon regained her confident normal speech. "Ok, i'll show you some techniques while were there."
The small black warrior got to her paws, giving her pelt a quick shake to get rid of any snow or frost that had caught on her fur before waiting for Emberpaw to react. She looked embarrassed...

Emberpaw looked up quickly, whiskers quivering in excitement. "Thanks Ebonystep! Maybe I'll catch a squirrel this time. I've never caught one before!" She meowed in anticipation. Emberpaw stood and waited for Ebonystep to lead the way out of camp.

Ebonystep purred as she padded away, tail tip flicking from side to side. "I'm sure you'll catch a squirrel (argh, may be wrong spelling)," she mewed, slipping through the thorn tunnel where she blended in with the dark shadows. No thorns, she thought, remembering the thorn which caught in her paw earlier. the memory made her pad seem raw again.
